For someone out of deviantART.com.

I ...really like this. I'm sure I'll hate it in a few days, but right now I am pleased.

First off I have to say I saw this in my inbox and was like O.o. And then I saw who did it and I was like O.o!. The improvement in this piece alone is staggering. The anatomy is pretty damn good, and the lighting/coloring is really pretty. I love the used of purple in the highlights. I also love the balance between your personal style and realism. But anyway... onto the crit :)

First off I'll start with the head. I won't mention the eyes or ears because thats your style but I will mention the muzzle. I think the mouth itself needs to be bigger, the opening/lips appear to be a touch too small. Try and make it take up more of the head... if you know what I mean. Wolves and dogs only have mouths as small as that when howling. Next anatomy note is left forelimb. The angle of the wrist makes it seem broken.. you might have exaggerated the bend too much. I also think that maybe the knee is a touch too far down the leg? Not completely sure on that one. Finally if you notice, particularly on the hind legs, the paws far away are at the same level as the paws close by. This causes a bit of a lopsided effect making the far away limb appear longer than the near limb. It helps to make the legs in the back a little shorter than the nearby ones to make it seem like they are in the background and not the fore ground. Finally a small note on the lighting you could have played with shadows a lot more making the contrast and interest of the piece go way up. Indicating the muscles with shadows makes for a very interesting piece to look at :)

The front feet could be fixed by reducing the size of the right paw and thinning the area behind the dewclaw, perhaps even moving the dewclaw forward for balance while increasing the size of the left paw, perhaps splaying it a tiny bit more outward also. As the critue requires 100 words, I will contnue thus... lnn s vikb jbe pau h eu nv ndh u hawf u nf diij lijw jfs lijjpfa ia eatmj afar mo . That lineart in the picture... I can only imagine all the patience that must have took! The detail in the coloring is great, too.
